Manufacturing

Production that knows its materials and its true cost.

Define what goes into each product, check materials before you start, and let every production order move stock and post its cost automatically. No more guessing what a finished unit really costs.

What's inside

From bill of materials to finished goods on the shelf.

Bills of materials

Define the components and quantities for each finished product, including sub-assemblies with their own BOMs.

Production orders

Plan production orders, reserve their materials, and follow each one from draft to completed.

Material availability

See shortages before you start, and turn them into purchase orders or transfers in one step.

Automatic stock movements

Starting an order consumes its materials, and finishing it adds the finished goods to stock at the right cost.

Production costing

Material and overhead costs roll up per order, so you know what every finished unit actually costs.

Scrap & waste

Record scrap and waste on each order, so losses are visible and costed instead of hidden in stock counts.

How it works

Define it once, produce it every day.

  1. 1

    Define the BOM

List the materials and quantities for each product, once. Sub-assemblies can have BOMs of their own.

  2. 2

    Plan and produce

Create a production order, confirm materials are available, and record progress as units are finished.

  3. 3

    Finish and cost

Finished goods enter stock, materials are deducted, and the order's cost posts to the ledger.

FAQ

Common questions about manufacturing

Which plans include manufacturing?

The Business and Enterprise plans. Starter and Scale can still buy, stock and sell finished products, without bills of materials or production orders.

Can a bill of materials include another one?

Yes. Sub-assemblies have their own bills of materials, and their costs roll up into the finished product.

What if some materials are short?

The production order shows the shortage before you start, and you can create purchase orders or transfers for the missing quantity in one step.

Does it work for food production and central kitchens?

Yes. Recipes work as bills of materials, so ingredients are deducted from stock as each batch is produced.
